POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for all cabins in designated pod. This includes supporting staff and campers through quality of program, periodic evaluations and assistance where needed. This position will live in single unit housing. A great fit for one of the Pod Unit Leader positions is somebody with supervisory experience, multiple years of summer camp experience and great report with former supervisors.
KNOW-HOW:
The Unit Leader must have a thorough understanding of the YMCA’s mission and goals, and a desire to work with children between the ages of 7 and 17. Leadership skills, enthusiasm, patience, a sense of humor and self-control are all essential. The Unit Leader should have experience in leading and motivating staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Supervisory Experience preferred
- Experience working with children
- Prior summer camp experience preferred
- Prior experience leading peers preferred
- CPR/AED & First Aid required
- TB test required
- Ability to be physically active all day
